Both sides were desperate to get their first win of the season, and it was finally the rise of new dawn at Arsenal. It’s always great for a manager to get their first win, especially after the tough task as well as start Unai Emery is destined to complete at Arsenal.
Marko Arnautović gave West Ham the perfect start by netting in a well executed low-kept shot that beat Petr Cech on his left. That goal made it clear, Arsenal will have to fight deep if they want to take anything away from this fixture.
Aubameyang and Ramsey had their fare share on the goal in the first half but Petr Cech was needed to deny Robert Snodgrass on the stroke of halftime.
Arsenal showed they have a winning mentality and overcame the pressure put on by Manuel Pellegrini’s side well in the second half.
A sixteen-pass move was completed when Nacho Monreal netted the equalizer for the Gunners. Arsenal were knocking on the doors and their most experienced defender came to their rescue when he calmly converted Bellerin’s deflected cross from with-in six yards.
Arsenal’s second came when AlexLacazette grinned to get something out of a dangerous ball in the penalty area. His cross meant for Aubameyang was too powerful for debutante Issa Diop to hold it back. Arsenal bottled West Ham once again as they led from a fortunate goal.
The men in Red and White were handed another opportunity during the closing minutes which was calmly dealt with by Welbeck.
