His pace has been trouble for full backs of the opposing teams and his versatility and ability to read the game has shown he is a great prospect for his age. In the year 2017/18 he was voted Young Player of the Season for AS Roma.
The Turkish midfielder is one who likes to play on the right side of attack and has flourished in that role greatly. He comes as one who like to hold on to the ball and beat his marker with his pace and his precise long range passes have earned him some assists not forgetting his fondness of cutting in after dribbling in the opponents half to either shoot or assist. He is undoubtedly one of the fans’ favorites and he is paying back their love with excellent work rate on the field of play. Many top European clubs have kept tabs on the 21 year old right winger, Arsenal, Leverkusen, Bayern Munich have all been linked to Cengiz Under. But Forza Roma claim the Gunners are ahead of the two German teams to claim Cengiz’s signature. The highly rated Roma star is pegged at around 52m pounds and having understood that the Gunners boss Emery is keen on bolstering his ranks on the wings after an impressive start thus far in the league, Under definitely looks like a good match.
Rumors suggest that a bid of 30m euros was made by Arsenal in the summer transfer for the winger but was ejected. So if Arsenal really want him to come over to Islington in the winter, they have to seek for an amount in the range of 52m euros to lure the Serie A team release their Young Player of the Year.
Currently the Gunners play a 4-2-3-1 formation which has seen them bang in goals but some fans have asked for a change in that to be able to accommodate both Aubameyang and Lacazette up top. In AS Roma , Under is deployed on the Right in a 4-2-1-3 formation most of the time. Some pundits have argued that the formation that will best accommodate both Lacazette and Aubameyang is a 4-4-2 or a 4-1-3-2 formation and these two formations need a strong midfield and natural wingers, Arsenal seem to be doing well in the middle due to the presence of Lucas Torreira but are a little lacking in the wings.
Under Cengiz will be a good buy and may be a catalyst for a change of formation into one that will accommodate both top strikers. His ability to adopt to the style of play in the EPL is indubitable as he was able to fit in easily in a tough combating league like the Serie A. He’s young and desirous and he will be a good buy for the gunners but will be one at a cost.
