Aaron Ramsey’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season and is poised to take on a new challenge with Bayern Munich.
A number of European heavyweights are keen to snap him up, but it seems like Bayern Munich are leading the race to get his signature.
The German club will send club scouts to take a close look on transfer target at Cardiff City stadium when Denmark plays Wales tonight in UEFA Nations League clash.
With talks over a new deal having broken down by Arsenal, Bayern Munich can officially open negotiations on January 1, when the Welshman is free to sign any pre-contract with the European club.
Ryan Giggs believes Ramsey can play anywhere in Europe, and would be a bargain.
‘He’s been linked with everyone, which is expected because he’s a quality player,’ said Giggs, who plans to start Ramsey against Denmark despite his intermittent displays for Arsenal.
‘I think he’s played enough,’ added Giggs. ‘I think he’s done OK. He started last week in the Europa League, a slightly different role for Arsenal against Sporting, a bit deeper. But he’s fine, he’s good.’
His national teammate Ashley Williams said he could be a success in the Bundesliga. ‘He can cut it,’ he said. ‘It’s not really a surprise. His quality speaks for itself. He’s been doing it for years now, he’s not a young lad now. He’s done it at international level and in the Premier League and Europe.
‘I’m sure a lot of big teams will be interested in him. For us, he’s obviously one of the most important players in our team and we are happy he is back.
‘He gives us something a little bit different to the other players in the squad. He can do something you wouldn’t expect. He’s one of the leaders of the team so he’s very important.
‘I’ve played with him for years and he’s massive. We want all of our experienced and best players on the pitch as much as possible.’
