Arsenal are starting a new era after departure of the Legendary Arsene Wenger, and their new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is expected to play fundamental role. Many are suggesting an overhaul to take place in the summer, but that is not really Arsenal’s way. Though, Football is all about surprises.
Arsenal are believed to sign atleast couple of centre-backs in the summer. Sven Mislintat brought in Konstantinos Mavropanos in January, who looks to have an abundance of potential. Mavropanos looks to have the right mixture of physical and tactical – something which Arsenal lack in their back-line since the likes of Sol Campbell and Kolo Toure.
Arsenal are tipped to sign Freiburg’s Centre-back Caglar Soyuncu since Altinordu president Seyit Mehmet Ozkan revealed the North-London based club were favorites to land the Turkish prospect. Caglar Soyuncu is another of Sven Mislintat’s findings, who have been a regular at Freiburg last season – making 30 appearances and featuring 2439 minutes in all.
Caglar Soyuncu is a young prodigy really looking to step-in big and is all set to make a name for himself. Soyuncu is someone who likes to start attacks from the back, yet someone with a physical posture – who likes to trouble the aces on regular basis.
Caglar is known for his determination and humbleness. He seems to give his everything on the pitch, though he still has alot to work on – perfection with start coming with experience.
Caglar Soyuncu will add another starlet into Arsenal with quite young lot of central defenders, though, the Gunners are also linked to Sokratis Papastathopoulos and it seems a reasonable business. Sokratis is an experienced head, who is poised to rejuvenate Arsenal’s defensive problems lately.
Borussia Dortmund’s negotiations for a new deal with Sokratis have reportedly broken down, and he would cost the Gunners something around £13.23m-£17.64m. Though Arsenal face competition for the Greek international from other English clubs as well as some of the Italian clubs.
Though the presence of Sven Mislintat at Arsenal, may just be the boost the men in Red and White would need to secure the signature of Sokratis.
On the other hand, Caglar Soyuncu would be a positive step for the Emirates side. Caglar is only aged 21 and possesses hefty potential to succeed at the highest level. Caglar would be much of a prospect for Arsenal in his first season at London. He would be considered to compete with Konstantinos Mavropanos for game time.
Caglar as well as Konstantinos are yet inexperienced at highest level, and a mistake at the apex level would be unavoidable. Though looking for the future, they are someone who could solve Arsenal’s defensive problems for a long-long time.
