Hugo-Larsson-Arsenal

Arsenal are among some of the Premier League’s top sides that are keeping tabs on highly-rated Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson. As per reports from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Gunners have joined rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in keeping tabs on the promising 20-year-old.

However, all three clubs will face a tough task to prise the player away from his current home. The club have invested a lot in developing the player and intend to retain him for the long-term as one of their own. But considering the purchasing power the English clubs can flex; they will do their best to lure Larsson away from Frankfurt.

Now, as Arsenal and others look to approach the player and his camp, Eintracht Frankfurt will be faced with a monumental task of retaining their player.

Despite being stacked in midfield, Arsenal have always been known to have one eye on the future and the players they can acquire. To that tune, the Gunners have been keeping tabs on 20-year-old Larsson, who has emerged as a highly-rated youngster in Europe over the last few seasons.

Hugo Larsson came through the youth ranks with Swedish side Malmo FF between 2016-21, before breaking into their first team in 2022. He spent nearly two years with his boyhood club before being spotted and signed by Frankfurt in 2023.

A deep-lying midfielder who can also play in a more defensive role at times, Larsson is adept with building play from the back. His tall frame and long strides also allow him to cover great distances on the pitch, meaning he can be a real asset in central midfield. Larsson is also blessed with great technical ability and decent pace despite his body type, with potential to gain a lot more muscle as he grows up.
