Gonzalo Higuain, on loan at AC Milan from Juventus has ranked his way up to the top transfer target for Chelsea, atleast according to the newspapers.
With constant jibes at oneself and pile up of frustration not only for him but also the club, Alvaro Morata is linked with a move away from Chelsea. The departure of Alvaro Morata leaves a big hole in attack for Chelsea (with only Olivier Giroud the established striker then, who is also looking for a move away from Stamfrod Bridge) and Maurizio Sarri is looking a move for the Argentine striker as his replacement.
Chelsea have spent combined £78 million in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, though neither appears to be in Chelsea’s long-term future. Sarri has identified Gonzalo as his first choice to bring in some powerhouse upfront. Maurizio Sarri already has some relationship with Higuain, with the pair already sharing the dressing room during their time at Naples. Higuain was outstanding under Sarri – hitting 36 league goals in 2015-16 before his big money move to Juventus. Higuain will be keen to link back up with his former manager and hopefully he brings some goals upfront.
Talking about Higuain – he certainly is not the type of player that Chelsea are known to bring in, at thirty-one you would call him old considering the *over thirty years rule* they are known to follow but Olivier Giroud was another exemption last January and so will Higuain be. Yes, he does provide some quality with all the experience he has and that is something underperforming Chelsea need right now.
As we talked above, its said that they won’t extend Olivier Giroud’s contract with move to Barcelona on the cards and Alvaro Morata looking on his way to Sevilla or Atletico Madrid (based on how things unfold in the coming days).
Higuain will be another bouncing factor for the likes of Eden Hazard and Willian, yeah Giroud-esque Gonzalo but at the same time – Higuain possess some light in his feet (compared to Oli).
Chelsea are highly linked with Higuain and the supporters from the Blue army are calling that he signs for Chelsea in a way that he can face Arenal on the weekend. The Argentine did not start against his parent club Juventus yesterday and is expected to sign Chelsea by the end of this week.
Here is a look on – How Chelsea may line-up with Gonzalo Higuain against Arsenal (if he secures his move to Stamford Bridge well in time for the London Derby)
GOALKEEPER: Kepa Arrizabalaga
Chelsea’s record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga is quite obvious choice between the woodworks for the Chelsea outfit. The Spanish shot-stopper has been a solid presence at the back for the Blues, although despite of his big stature there have been doubts over his potential to perform at the level Cortois operated. Although you should not forget his is still too young and probably have another 10-12 years ahead of him at Chelsea if things go well.
With Petr Cech retiring at the end of this season, he will be motivated to show Cech (who’ll be sitting at other corner of the bench) – that Chelsea have found someone who can look him in the eye.

DEFENDERS: Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso
Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz have established themselves as first-choice central defenders under Maurizio Sarri. Both of them had some ill times under Antonio Conte last season but have revived themselves under the new head coach. You could see David Luiz with those through balls from the back and have been standing tall at the heart of the defence as he as always been doing.
Talking about Antonio Rudiger, he looked like a steal – coming in from AS Roma, but was soon seen struggling adapting to the Premier League. But now that is nothing to worry about as the German has already found his foot rolling in England and is probably one of the most influential centre back in English football as of now.
And talking about influence, Chelsea got two of the most influential full-backs in the Premier League in likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, who are not only standing tall on the defence but also making an impact upfront.
MIDFIELDERS: Jorginho, N’golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic
The midfield is presumed to be the same as it was against Newcastle United last weekend. Ross Barkley would most likely battle with Mateo Kovacic for the final spot in the Chelsea midfield alongside N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Jorginho is expected to play as the base of three men midfield with N’Golo Kante deploying in a more advanced role. Ruben Loftus-Cheek was the man in form but is out due to injury.

FORWARDS: Willian, Gonzalo Higuain, Eden Hazard
Willan and Hazard, well we don’t need to talk about them and how much they can give. Lets just talk about the main man – The Striker.
I have talked about how influential Higuain can be but not to forget he is struggling in front of goal with just six goals this season and well that doesn’t add to the striking force Chelsea are looking for. If I’m Sarri, even if Higuain signs well before time Olivier Giroud will be my first and go to option for the match against Arsenal.
