Will Eddie Nketiah end his 9-Year Spell at Arsenal?

Eddie-Nketiah-Marseille

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah linked with Marseille move

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been linked with a move away from London Colney this summer transfer window, and French giants Marseille are looking at the possibility of signing the England international, per Foot Mercato.

The Gunners have been looking to sign a new winger and a new striker in the ongoing window as the North Londoners look to add to an already formidable attacking roster. Arsenal already have Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz in the number nine position; signing a new centre forward would eventually rule Eddie out of contention for his place upfront.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal fans are desperate for a finished product upfront, and their pursuit could eventually put an end to Eddie Nketiah’s nine-year spell at the Emirates Stadium after joining the Hale End from Chelsea.

The French publication Footmercato acknowledges Marseille’s interest in the England international, and they claim the French giants ‘are working on another English striker’ following an agreement with Manchester United to bring Mason Greenwood to Orange Vélodrome.

The report further states that Marseille ‘have taken the first steps’ to land Eddie Nketiah with Pablo Longoria, Marseille president, said to have taken ‘on an English accent’ off late, depicting their extensive dealings in the English market.

Marseille have landed former Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, and he is looking to create an English revolution at the French giants as he ‘has a good command of the English market’. And he is ‘currently studying the possibility of recruiting’ Eddie this summer.

It is also understood that Eddie is open to moving to the French giants, as both clubs have already held initial discussions for a possible transfer for the Arsenal academy graduate.

The transfer is only in its early stages at the time of writing, although the initial talks have been positive as Nketiah and Arsenal are set to part ways.
