A summary of how the Arsenal players performed in the group stage for their countries at the 2024 UEFA Euros. The Gunners had a significant representation in the tournament, with several players making a mark in the group stages. From impressive performances to disappointing exits, we review how the Arsenal players fared in the first round of the competition.
Players Qualified for the Knockout Stages
Kai Havertz, Germany
(Round of 16 Fixture: Denmark)
A decent tournament so far for the forward. He has scored one goal and assisted another. While his off-the-ball movement and link-up play have been good, he hasn’t been clinical enough in front of the goal.
David Raya, Spain
(Round of 16 Fixture: Georgia)
A deputy for Unai Simon, Raya was given one start against Albania in which he had a good game, making some important saves. Likely to drop to the bench in the knockout stages.
Jorginho, Italy
(Round of 16 Fixture: Switzerland)
Apart from a disastrous showing against Spain, Jorginho has had a good tournament. He has distributed the ball well but will be hoping to be more creative for the Azzurri.
Bukayo Saka, England
(Round of 16 Fixture: Slovakia)
Has started all games but is yet to register a goal contribution. Saka, like most of his teammates, hasn’t been at his best and will be hoping to be more of a threat in the knockout phases.
Declan Rice, England
(Round of 16 Fixture: Slovakia)
Decent. He has overall done his job as an anchor but has had his iffy moments. Should try to be more adventurous with his passing next match.
Aaron Ramsdale, England
(Round of 16 Fixture: Slovakia)
As the deputy, Ramsdale has been on the bench for the Three Lions’ campaign so far. Unlikely to get a start with Pickford doing nothing wrong so far.
William Saliba, France
(Round of 16 Fixture: Belgium)
A good showing from the young centre-back so far. He has defended well and looks confident with his passing.
Leandro Trossard, Belgium
(Round of 16 Fixture: France)
A frustrating campaign so far for the forward. Started two games but looked disappointing in both. His place in the starting 11 will be in doubt for Belgium’s next game.
Players Eliminated
Kieran Tierney, Scotland
Was quite average in the two games he played. Suffered a bad injury which will keep him out for some time.
Jakub Kiwior, Poland
Quite a disappointing showing by the defender. Had a terrible game against France where he gave away a penalty.
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ukraine
A decent tournament by the fullback. He got forward well and created a few chances for his teammates. Ukraine were unlucky to go out despite securing four points.
