An overview of the Arsenal players representing their countries at the quarterfinals stage of the 2024 UEFA Euros. Kai Havertz: Same old story for the German number seven. He made excellent runs as the lone forward but just lacked the attacking instincts of a traditional number nine. He missed two good opportunities and was not much of a physical presence up front, winning just three of his 10 duels. Mikel Arteta will hope he gets his scoring boots back for Arsenal.

David Raya: On the bench as Unai Simon continues to claim the starting position for his nation with some impressive performances. The newly announced Gunner saw his country record a thrilling late victory to send them to the semifinals.

PORTUGAL vs FRANCE (0-0, 3-5 after penalties)

William Saliba: The young centre-back has arguably been the best defender at the Euros. Another excellent performance by Saliba as he looked strong in defence and comfortable on the ball. He made a fantastic block to deny Bernardo Silva.

ENGLAND vs SWITZERLAND (1-1, 5-3 after penalties)

Bukayo Saka: England’s star boy. Looked a real menace playing as the right wing back and scored a fantastic equaliser to keep the Three Lions in the tournament. Converted his penalty in the shootout to exorcise the demons from the Euro 2020 final.

Declan Rice: A strong performance by the central midfielder. He was extremely accurate in possession, completing 99% of his passes. Rice also did his defensive duties well, making four tackles and winning 71% of his duels. Played the entire 120 minutes.

Aaron Ramsdale: An unused substitute with England progressing to the semifinals after a penalty shootout victory. They will face the Netherlands in the next round.
