Everton set to bid for Arsenal’s 21-year-old midfielder who can elevate them to the top of the WSL

Everton are planning to strengthen their squad with the help of the new owners as the takeover process moves towards completion.

They have set their sights on Arsenal midfield star Kathrine Kuhl and are planning to offer a bid worth £100k for the Dutch star, as per BBC Sport journalist Emma Sanders.

The 21-year-old joined the Gooners from SuperLiga side FC Nordsjælland in January 2023. She was signed to add creativity to their midfield, and the coaching staffs were immediately impressed by the youngster’s remarkable talent on the ball.

However, Kuhl has struggled for game time ever since and is yet to fully establish herself in the Arsenal Women’s squad. She has collected just 21 minutes of playing time in the WSL and UWCL this season.

Lack of minutes has hindered her development, and it will be in the best interest of both parties to let her enjoy football somewhere else. Her agent did visit the Sobha Realty Training Centre last month, but it remains unclear whether they discussed a new contract.

Arsenal are ready to accept a loan or a permanent move in order to comply with the player’s demands. Everton are aware of Kuhl’s status at the Emirates Stadium and are willing to make an attractive bid for the promising midfielder.

The midfield star played for them on loan in the second half last season. The Toffees coach, Brian Sorense, who also coached Kuhl at FC Nordsjællan, now wants her in his team.

Everton have the necessary funds needed to land the Dutch star. They want to climb the ladders of the Women Super League table, and the new ownership will help them add more firepower to their squad.

Arsenal’s stance on this situation could make things easier for both clubs. It remains to be seen whether we get to see some major movements in the January transfer window.
