Arsenal are looking to bring in a midfielder in the summer transfer window and have been linked with the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino along the way. However, as per the latest reports, the Gunners are looking at another Spanish midfielder, Fabian Ruiz.
The midfielder has played an integral role in Spain’s recent success at the European Championships, and he could replicate a similar impact at club level if he chooses to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal Plotting Raid on PSG for Ruiz
Arsenal are said to have initiated talks over a possible move with Ruiz’ current employer, Paris Saint-Germain. However, it is said that the deal depends on whether Mikel Arteta’s men can move on one midfielder this summer.
The transfer is expected to be a loan deal with an obligation to buy, per Duncan Castles.
Ideally, he has been an integral presence at Parc de Princes in his time at PSG, and it is difficult to see him leave following the impact he has had from the middle of the park; however, when Arsenal knocks, it’s different.
We will see if any deal could materialize out of this, as it is still in its early stages to tell if the interest is genuine or if this is just another juggle of the transfer mill.
Arsenal have made huge progress in the transfer window this week. The Gunners are set to welcome Riccardo Calafiori as he travels to London Colney for his medical, and the club is in advance talks to sell Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham in a record deal, while Reiss Nelson is also subject to concrete interests.
About Ruiz, we will see the depth of the rumor; however, that being said, he would be an excellent addition to the current roster if the Gunners interest is real.
