FC Porto closing in on Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior in €26m deal

Kiwior-Arsenal-exit

FC Porto are finalising a deal for Jakub Kiwior, with Arsenal agreeing to a loan plus mandatory buy structure worth around €26m. With that move now nearing completion, Arsenal are also closing in on Piero Hincapie setting the stage for a clear swap of left-sided defenders.

Reports confirm that Porto’s package includes a sizeable loan fee upfront, flooding Kiwior’s move with momentum to be sealed soon. The exit was always in the cards to make room, both in the squad and on the wage bill for Piero Hincapie’s arrival.

That clears the way for Arsenal to activate Piero Hincapie’s release or negotiate terms closer to the €60m clause. The defender is ready to leave Bayer Leverkusen, is a clear Arteta target, and favours the Gunners over other suitors. Arsenal are reportedly in advanced stages of talks, finalising fee structure, and waiting only on the Kiwior exit to trigger the deal.

Why Piero Hincapie fits the bill

Arteta has long wanted a left-footed defender who can cover both central and wide roles on the left. Piero Hincapie brings elite mobility, pressing intelligence, and adaptability that align perfectly with Arsenal’s on-pitch demands. His addition would deliver both quality and tactical flexibility.

With Eberechi Eze already signed and Victor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, and others arriving, Piero Hincapie’s signing would reinforce the backline without disrupting the summer’s overall recruitment balance. It also underscores Berta’s commitment to delivering Arteta’s vision before the window slams shut.
