Gabriel Jesus ‘good enough to be main man’ at Arsenal

In the midst of Arsenal’s transfer plans, the question of whether the Gunners should sign a new striker arises. However, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor, Gabriel Jesus has proven himself to be more than capable of shouldering the responsibilities of leading the line at the Emirates.

This article explores Taylor’s viewpoint and delves into the reasons why Jesus should be considered Arsenal’s first-choice striker for the upcoming season.

While Arsenal looks to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window, their primary focus appears to be on midfield reinforcements. Recent reports suggest that the Gunners are in pole position to secure the signature of West Ham United captain Declan Rice, as stated by journalist Rudy Galetti. However, competition from Chelsea, led by Mauricio Pochettino, is expected to challenge Arsenal’s pursuit of the talented midfielder.

Taylor argues that Arsenal should prioritize other areas of the team rather than signing a new center-forward. He emphasizes the importance of keeping Gabriel Jesus content and not disrupting the harmony within the squad. Taylor suggests that introducing another striker would require the club to offload players like Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun to fund the move. In Taylor’s view, Jesus possesses the necessary qualities to lead the line effectively and be the main man at Arsenal.

Taylor speaking with GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think so, to be honest. I mean, if you’re going to bring in another striker, you’re going to have to sell [Eddie] Nketiah and probably [Folarin] Balogun to fund that move.

“And obviously you’ve then got the issue of keeping Jesus happy because he’s ultimately come to Arsenal to be the main man, and I think Jesus is good enough to be the main man.”

Having secured Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for a substantial fee last summer, Arsenal made a significant investment in the 26-year-old forward. Despite a few injury setbacks, Jesus has showcased his ability on the pitch. With 10 goals in 24 Premier League appearances this season he has proven himself as a reliable goal scorer – although not as clinical in-front of the goal at times. Jesus’ versatility and his ability to bring a unique dynamic to Arsenal’s play have earned praise from former Arsenal legend Paul Merson, who draws comparisons to Roberto Firmino during his peak years at Liverpool.

Jesus’s contributions to the team extend beyond his goal-scoring ability. His ability to create chances, link up play, and provide a sense of cohesion make him an integral part of Arsenal’s attacking setup. With his versatility to operate in different areas of the pitch, Jesus has the potential to excel under Mikel Arteta’s tactical guidance.

DENOUNCEMENT:

Considering Gabriel Jesus’s performances and the potential he has shown during his time at Arsenal, it is evident that he possesses the qualities to be the Gunners’ first-choice striker in the upcoming season. Ryan Taylor’s belief that signing another striker may disrupt the squad dynamics resonates with the idea of persisting with Jesus as the main man. As Arsenal continues its quest for success, placing their trust in Jesus could prove to be a wise decision that elevates the team’s attacking prowess and solidifies their forward line.
