Gabriel Martinelli who has proved to be one of the few shining lights of the season for Arsenal could miss four games in the early part of 2020 as the 18-year-old has been included in a provisional Brazil squad for a pre-Olympic tournament.
Martinelli became the first summer signing for Arsenal costing the club around £6 million and has turned out to be a big hit at the Emirates with assured performances. But his rapid development be dealt with a more immediate blow for the Gunners, with international commitments at risk of taking him away from England early in 2020.
Pre-Olympic Tournament runs between January 18 and February 9 in Colombia. As a result, Arsenal will miss the-18-year-old Brazilian as they play Sheffield United, Chelsea, Burnley and Newcastle United during that time.
While it’s added that a final squad will be announced on December 27 and so it’s not yet confirmed as to whether or not Martinelli will feature.
We got plenty of depth & quality to cover up Martinelli’s absence though losing him will serve a set back as his intensity is so hard to find in Arsenal legs these days as the Gunners try to build upon an underwhelming campaign at Emirates.
