23yo South American star informs agent about his desire to secure his future with Arsenal

Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli has told his agent that he wants to extend his contract with Arsenal and isn’t interested in listening to other offers, as revealed by the Arsenal Fanatics News.

The 23-year-old has blown hot and cold this season with only seven goal contributions in 17 games. But he remains a vital player for Mikel Arteta’s setup. The left-winger’s move from Ituano for just £6 million is a clear bargain, and retaining him for long could be the best possible decision.

Martinelli signed a new contract in 2023 that runs until 2027. Interest from Real Madrid started flowing in due to his fine form and contract situation.

But as per sources, the South American star is unfazed by these rumours and only wants his representatives to shift their focus towards extending his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

He rose to the occasion in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Premier League rivals Brentford yesterday by scoring the third goal. It was an inspiring performance in which he created more chances than the entire opponent’s team.

The Brazil international plays with confidence when Riccardo Calafiori partners him on the left flank. Also, his communication with Gabriel Jesus helps both attackers to drift into channels with ease.

The fans really miss the old Martinelli celebration, and we hope that this is his year at Arsenal. He has an important role to play in Bukayo Saka’s absence, and the manager will bank on him to fire goals from one end.

This is welcoming news for the fans since both their left wingers, Leandro Trossard and Martinelli, were once a hotspot for transfer rumours. Securing the latter is a huge bonus, and it would be lovely if they could repeat the same with Trossard.
