Gabriel Martinelli is at the center of transfer news, with Real Madrid reportedly eyeing the Arsenal star as their next big Galáctico signing.
Real Madrid are preparing an exchange offer for Arsenal in which they are looking to sign Gunners winger Gabriel Martinelli. As per reports from Arsenal Fanatics News on their Patreon, the Spanish giants are big admirers of the Brazilian winger’s qualities and are lining up a move to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Signed from Brazilian lower-tier side Ituano for £6 million in July 2019, Martinelli has become one of the most important players in Mikel Arteta’s set up. Mainly deployed on the left wing, Martinelli has also had phases of being played through the middle and has done reasonably well.
While the player Real Madrid are ready to offer’s name has not been mentioned, one can make an educated guess that it could possibly be Rodrygo Goes.
How would an exchange deal work out for Arsenal and Real Madrid?
Rodrygo has been one of the most important players for Los Blancos over the last few seasons. However, the arrival of Kylian Mbappe has pushed the Brazilian further down the pecking order and reports suggest he is unhappy with his lack of involvement.
In addition, teenage sensation Endrick’s arrival has also meant Real Madrid adopt a more striker-centric approach rather than a false nine – a role Rodrygo played in for the whole of last season.
Since joining Real from Santos back in 2018 for a hefty fee, the 23-year-old forward has enjoyed only a few spells as a regular starter. Most of his impact has been off the bench. He has made 231 appearances for the club, scoring 57 goals and providing 43 assists as well.

Able to play on either wing as well as centrally as a false nine, Rodrygo could be the perfect piece to add to Arsenal’s puzzle. However, the key detail is that this is a proposed exchange deal, and the Gunners may not be willing to part with Gabriel Martinelli at all.
