Arsenal are enduring a tough start to 2019/20 campaign as Unai Emery & Co. are failing to live up to the expectations lately and could soon face a fight to retain Hector Bellerin’s services after his agent revealed “interest” from an Italian club.
Bellerin, 24, who has only just recently made his return from long injury layoff which kept him out of action for eight months seems he may well be inclined to jump ship next summer.
Agent Alberto Botines, didn’t want to reveal the name of the club, but claimed a mystery Italian club are keen to lure the 24-year-old away from London.
“At the moment he is focused on the team’s commitments, comes from a bad injury and is returning to his levels. He likes Italy, the interest of an Italian club has been there but I can’t reveal it,” Botines told Sky Sports (via Calcio Mercato).
“He has a long contract and it won’t be easy to take him away from Arsenal. He is vice-captain, we will see how the season will go.”
The Spaniard has been with the Gunners since signing from Barcelona in 2011 and the rumours of him to move elsewhere will present Emery with yet another unwanted headache.
Bellerin still has a contract at the Gunners until 2023 with £110,000-a-week deal, so the Gunners are at least protected, but his agent has claimed interest.
