Serie A giants Inter Milan are keeping a close eye on Oleksandr Zinchenko’s situation at Arsenal, as the player is reportedly unhappy with his lack of playing time.
According to Fichajes, the Ukrainian international is also dissatisfied with the terms of his current contract and has demanded better conditions. This has sparked significant interest from Inter Milan, with manager Simone Inzaghi viewing Zinchenko as a good fit for his system. Inter’s attacking style, featuring Federico Dimarco in a free role on the left, could benefit from Zinchenko’s versatility, allowing him to provide cover or challenge Dimarco for a starting spot.
The 27-year-old has also fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and could look for a move in search of more playing time.
Zinchenko’s dwindling importance in a new-look Arsenal side
Oleksandr Zinchenko made a name for himself during his six-year spell with Manchester City, making 128 appearances, contributing with two goals and 12 assists. He arrived at Arsenal in July 2022 as a four-time Premier League winner, entering a team just about to start evolving from ground up.
He played 33 games for the Gunners in his first season with the club across competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists as well. His importance to the team was apparent in the following season as Zinchenko made 35 appearances across competitions in 2023/24, scoring one goal and providing two assists
This season, however, with the availability of Jurrien Timber and the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, Zinchenko’s involvement has plummeted. He has featured for just 178 minutes in five appearances across competition for Arsenal and is noticeably unhappy with his situation.
With a club of Inter Milan’s stature in the fray, the Ukrainian may be tempted to end his stint in north London in search of minutes.
