Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has returned back to England squad for the friendlies against Netherlands and Italy.
Wilshere last appeared in the England badge in Three Lion’s defeat against Iceland in Euro 16. The 26-year-old returns after two years and is in line to travel to Russia for the World Cup.
Southgate said on Wilshere: “Jack’s a player that has unquestionable talent. The key for me is that he is playing in the games that matter for Arsenal.
“He’s getting closer to where we want him. His technical ability in the middle of the park will be very useful.”
Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck is also named in the 28 men squad by Southgate for the upcoming friendlies.
