Jakub Kiwior could be trading London for Naples and Napoli this January.
Antonio Conte and Napoli are planning a transfer move for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in the January transfer window. According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Conte and his team may propose a loan with an obligation to purchase depending on certain conditions being met.
The Pole has been a fringe player for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta so far but has featured fairly regularly for them this season. Injuries to other defenders have afforded Kiwior some extra game-time at club level, while his involvement with the Polish national team remains high.
Napoli, who have made a flying start in Serie A under Antonio Conte with 26 points from 12 games, are the league-leaders ahead of Atalanta, Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Lazio, all on 25 points, and Juventus behind them with 24 points.
To keep contesting until the end in a highly-competitive league, Napoli are looking to make some additions in the January market.
Jakub Kiwior: Would Arsenal let their player leave for Naples?
Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia in a £20 million move in January 2023 as Arteta and former Sporting Director Edu looked to add squad depth. Despite featuring in games in bursts, Kiwior has largely been on the fringes of the first team as he struggles for regular minutes.
The Pole has made a total of 45 appearances in nearly two years since joining the club, contributing with two goals and five assists as well. He played 1,594 minutes across 30 games across competitions for Arsenal last season, adding one goal and three assists. This season, however, he has played just 321 minutes in seven games, adding two assists.

The arrival of Riccardo Calafiori and return of Jurrien Timber after nearly a year out has pushed Jakub Kiwior further down the pecking order with the Gunners. A move to Napoli in search of regular playing time could entice the player, and the north Londoners will also look to get the bigger end of the stick in negotiations with Napoli.
