The talks between Arsenal F.C and AS Roma over the swap deal of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Justin Kluivert looks promising and it seems like the 21-year old will probably land in the Emirates adding more competition to his counterpart Reiss Nelson.
With the 2019/20 season being one another season to obliterate for the Gunners, it’ll be quite amused to foresee who may provide a better future for us.
REISS NELSON:
Alot was expected from the Arsenal academy product after impressive outings for TSG Hoffenheim, where he spent a season-long loan spell. Since then, he always fought for enough playtime appearing only 16 times on the pitch.Nelson assisted 3 goals and scored two times averaging a 55′ minute playtime in every game he played this campaign.
The 20-year old is capable of playing on either wing and can even play in an attacking midfield position if necessary. He has some exceptional dribbling skills and can pace through three to four defenders. Off possession, he always has the tendency to fall back and contribute to the defense. You can find him in all areas of the pitch providing killer passes at the right time.
Considering the top-flight level, Nelson do have some sorting out to do in his finishing but things would come in place with playtime, which is really important for Reiss at this stage. The UK born is currently valued at €17m and given enough playtime and guidance, he surely has the ability to live up to his expectations.
JUSTIN KLUIVERT:
Just like his father Patrick, Justin Kluivert started off his football career with AFC Ajax. After impressing his youth team coaches he debuted for his senior team in the 2016/17 season where he proved his worth to step into the Stadio Olimpico as a Giallorossi.
Kluivert Jr was recruited in the AS Roma in the 2018/19 season. Although the season didn’t go to plan for him as he managed to net only 7 times and further layed off couple of times in twenty-seven appearances.
Kluivert Jr is familiar with playing on either side of the wing just alike Reiss Nelson. But unlike Reiss Nelson, he has some phenomenal finishing skills. Standing 171 cm tall, his low center of gravity makes his dribbling even finer and can effortlessly take out defenders single handedly.
CONCLUSION:
Arsenal did brought in Nicolas Pepe last summer, and as per rumour mill – Arteta is looking for another winger. But I feel the Gunners should not bring in anyone, it would just hamper the development for the likes of Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
Nothing taking away from Justin Kluivert, he’s got real potential and if we are to bring in a left-winger per se – I definitely won’t mind Kluivert (any day Kluivert over the ‘flop‘ Lemar)!
