Bayern Munch ace is training alone amid rising interest from English giants Arsenal

Sane-Arsenal

According to Team News and Ticks, Arsenal are keen admirers of Bayern Munich ace Leroy Sane this summer. The star winger has been training alone since preseason started.

He was not part of Vincent Kompany’s squad that defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 last week. This will boost the Gunner’s aspirations to rope in the 28-year-old.

SANE ADDITION COULD REIGNITE ARSENAL’S PATCHY TRANSFER WINDOW

Manager Mikel Arteta‘s wish list has been pretty dry this summer with only a single new addition to the roster so far. The Premier League is not too far away and they need to make sure that the squad has quality options.

Arsenal have done well in the preseason by defeating Bayer Leverkusen, and Manchester United and coming close against Liverpool.

However, there will be little margin for error in the PL. Games will be coming up thick and fast with players remaining prone to injuries if not given adequate rest.

It has long been touted that the North London-based side needs a talented and experienced winger to provide competition to Gabriel Martinelli and Bakayo Saka.

They were linked to Wolves’ star Pedro Neto but the player has now moved to Chelsea. Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is another option but Barcelona are close to securing his transfer.

Sane is another player who we rank highly due to his previous connections with Arteta and his performances for elite clubs like Manchester City and Bayern.

The German star was a key player for Pep Guardiola for four seasons. He contributed with 39 goals and 43 assists in over 135 appearances. Although he has had a mixed period at the Allianz Arena, the winger has displayed similar numbers for his current club.

He had a chance to work with Arteta who was a former assistant to Guardiola back at the Etihad. Sane has improved considerably as a player and as an individual under the Spaniard’s watchful eyes.

The senior star praised the manager during the Bavarian giant’s recent Champions League match against the Gunners. As quoted by the Mirror, he said:

“I was very happy to work with him. He helped me a lot there. We had a lot of face-to-face conversations about how I can improve my game. I improved a lot because of his ideas, be it positional play or how I have to act in different situations.”

ARSENAL HAVE MORE TO WORK DO IF THEY WANT TO LAND THE BAYERN ACE THIS SUMMER

The deal won’t be too easy to crack since Bayern are in no rush to let Sane leave. However, a few conditions might allow this transfer to happen.

Either the Bundesliga giants need to sign a new winger and announce the 28-year-old surplus to requirements or Arsenal can’t sign another attacker before the current transfer window ends.

The Gunners are focused on roping in Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad. Hence, we expect them to consider other options only after they are free from the previous ones.

They have made no offers until now but this transfer makes sense if carefully executed by the club. Sane is a right-winger but left-footed, a style similar to Saka. His experience is a bonus as well.

Arteta is known to sign former Man City stars and make them top-class. He did it with Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, and the Bayern star could be no different.

The management also needs to monitor how many games Saka plays since he is expected to be a definite starter. The fans have heard these rumours about Sane for a long time and would certainly want their club to take the first step if it’s finally possible.

The deal is theirs for the making.
