What makes the top 6 Premier League clubs elite? Their front three!
Of all the things, the attack mindset of top 6 clubs remain the same. Be it the trio of Sterling-Aguero-Silva or Alli-Kane-Son, all of them remind me of one word, brutal. Considering the attacking three of this season, two clubs have a forte in this position.
Liverpool and Arsenal it is. With the Merseyside banking on Mane-Salah-Firmino, the Gunners have put a lot of trust on Aubameyang and Lacazette who is going to be accompanied by Nicolas Pepe. The presence of Pepe makes Arsenal a squad to watch out for.
Arsenal’s present 3 reminds me of same picture that Liverpool had in initial years of Salah, Mane and Firmino in post-Suarez era. It’s extremely chimerical to find so much resemblance in the front three of two unparalleled clubs.
Like Liverpool like Arsenal. The Gunners have a sprint-king in the left flank who is exuberant with the ball under his feet and is equally adapt without the ball. A centre-forward who not only knows the laws of scoring but is a phD in creating mouth-watering chances. And on the right is a left-footed prodigy who loves to cut in through the flank and squeeze in past defenders.
So much to take out of Salah-Firmino-Mane resemblance to Pepe-Lacazette-Aubameyang. The only difference here is the trident of Liverpool have ripped past every squad they have come across and if there’s anything to be wary of is the camaraderie with which they play.
Arsenal show a lot of similarity and have a lot of composure but for what it counts, they lack experience of playing together. Arsenal’s model of playing football is so much similar to that of Liverpool. Although the Gooners may find it irritating they certainly try to imitate the model.
Arsenal’s professed model – which Kroenke described as “elite young talent led by wonderful coaching in an environment where every resource is available to them.” Doesn’t it sound like the one at Anfield??
On the pitch too, Arsenal have way more similarities that Liverpool do. The Gunners along with Reds have the most intriguing front three that can ever be seen and if anything, it will be the battle of these six that will enchant the spirit of football in their upcoming fixture.
Hold your seats, buckle up! You’re in for a treat of the season.
