As per Football Transfers, Liverpool have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Rosenborg BK midfielder Sverre Nypan ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds are aiming to leapfrog their fierce rivals as they want to land the highly rated teenage sensation. Nypan has established himself in the past year in Norway.
A native of Trondheim, he spent his developing years at Nardo FK before graduating from Rosenborg. At just 15, he made his debut for their senior side.
Since then, he has made 60 senior appearances for them, collecting 13 goals and 11 assists in the process. The midfielder has already been likened to Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard, and several sources also hinted that the Gunner’s star is trying to convince the 18-year-old to join him at the Emirates Stadium.

Liverpool want to invest in a young attacking midfielder, and they feel that the Rosenborg star could be a future superstar. Similarly, Arsenal values him highly due to his age and immense potential.
They have reaped the rewards by signing Ødegaard, and bringing in another Norwegian prodigy could secure their midfield for years to come.
Sverre Nypan will make a decision soon
His ability on the ball, technical brilliance, and composure set him apart from others. Rosenborg would be willing to entertain offers in the region of £12 million (€10m). Nypan’s father has also confirmed that the player will make a decision before summer.
He told VG:
“We know the club’s interest in Sverre. It’s been very important. It’s not been interesting to be a pawn in a big game. He hasn’t played a game since the first of December. When he signs in the summer and hopefully has been injury-free, he will be at his best.”
“It is much better to show him off with that starting point. We are not going to wait until the summer window opens to make a decision.”
Mikel Arteta’s side has a brilliant opportunity to get a young midfield star for a very cheap price. With Liverpool also knocking on the door, the Gunners need to be quick or risk losing the player in the upcoming months.
