Arsenal are due to face West Ham in gameweek 3 of Premier League this Saturday.
Lucas Perez, who joined West Ham this summer from Arsenal will be looking to give up the strong performance as he count days until he faces his former side.
Arsene Wenger bought Lucas Perez for a transfer fee reported to be worth £17m after Arsenal failed approach for England’s striker Jamie Vardy in 2016. He went on to score seven goals in 21 appearances in his debut campaign for Arsenal.
Perez failed to make concrete name of himself at Arsenal. His first season with the Gunners just didn’t come off as he would have liked. Despite of some notable performances as well as fans calling his involvement though he was not provided with enough chances to cement his place upfront. According to WhoScored, he played just 265 minutes of Premier League football in his debut campaign for Arsenal.
But with the arrival of Frenchmen Alexandre Lacazette following summer, it was absolute certain that Perez is on his way out of Arsenal despite arriving just past season for £17.1 million from Deportivo La Coruna. The Spaniard re-join Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan. Many believed the arrival of Unai Emery will provide Lucas Perez a chance to rejuvenate his Arsenal career.
But with plenty of options in Arsenal’s attack ahead of upcoming campaign, the chances for Lucas Perez seemed dim. Lucas Perez moved to West Ham this summer and he is yet to make his mark for the Hammers.
He made his Premier League debut for the Hammers coming in on as a late substitute against AFC Bournemouth last weekend. Lucas Perez took to twitter in delight of making his debut for West Ham.
