Manchester City will look to continue their resurgent run of form as they prepare to travel south to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday, February 2.

After managing just one win in 13 odd games across October and November, the Cityzens have roared back into form since the end of December. Since the 29th, they have played eight games and lost just once in that run, securing six wins and one draw. City have also been handed a major boost with new signings Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis.

Now, with 15 games left to play in the Premier League, Manchester City find themselves 12 points adrift of league-leaders Liverpool, having played a game more than Arne Slot’s men. They are well-known for embarking on lengthy winning runs and will need to pull something similar out of the hat this time if they are to mount a serious title defense.

Having said that, let’s take a look at how City could lineup in their trip to Arsenal.

Ederson will continue to work his magic for Pep Guardiola’s team between the sticks. Matheus Nunes and Josko Gvardiol will start as the full-backs, while John Stones and Manuel Akanji will make the central pairing.

Mateo Kovacic and Ilkay Gundogan are expected to play as the double-pivot in midfield, with captain Kevin De Bruyne in front of them in the creative midfielder role. Bernardo Silva will be moved to the right flank, while Phil Foden will play on the left. As a result, Omar Marmoush will be dropped to the bench after starting against Chelsea last week.

Erling Haaland will be the lone striker and will look to add to his scoring tally.

Predicted XI: Ederson (GK); Nunes, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan, De Bruyne (C); B. Silva, Foden, Haaland.
