Arsenal have reportedly worked out a deal with Fluminense that will see Brazilian winger Marquinhos fly back to his home country on loan until the end of the calendar year (i.e. December) with an option to buy included in the deal.
The Gunners have left the 20-year-old out of the Champions League squad after he was re-called from his loan spell at Nantes in January.
The market in Brazil will conclude in on March 7 and it is expected the deal will be announced well before that as according to reports by journalist Jorge Nicola, the involvement of Fernando Diniz helped bolt up the speed for a possible deal. Corinthians also showed interests but that’s done now, Marquinhos nears Fluminense transfer.
While citing multiple newspapers in Brazil, only final details remain to be ironed out before offical announcement of the transfer and it should come as Brazil’s U23s conclude their participation in the pre-Olympics.
