Arsenal have been linked with a move for a central defender in the upcoming summer, though they do already have a budding superstar in Konstantinos Mavropanos with many supporters wanting to bring him back to North London next season owing to his impressive performances in Bundesliga.
Although, Sven Mislintat is said to be growing confident that he can persuade Arsenal to loan Mavropanos for the next campaign with a possible purchase option. According to report by Kicker, Dinos is open to stay in Germany next year and Mislintat hopes to try and persuade the hierarchy for an option.
Mavropanos joined Stuttgart on loan last summer, having initially struggled with injuries – he’s become a regular for Pellegrino Matarazzo and one of top performing defender in Bundesliga in the recent months. The Greek has been form in 2021. Dinos’ featured in Teams of the Week, earned a senior international debut for Greece, and a nomination for Bundesliga Rookie of the Month in February.
For the time being, it doesn’t seem Mavropanos is in Arteta’s plans next year and the Gunners are said to be open for another loan deal.
VERDICT
If Arsenal don’t plan to use him, they should definitely loan him out for another year. He is finally showing his potential which Arsene Wenger saw when he started Dinos at the Old Trafford and it would benefit him a huge deal to get some momentum and game time under his belt. Mavropanos shows sign to develop into a top defender, and Arsenal should be patient with him and give him these much needed loans than sitting on the bench at the Emirates.
