It’s official. Arsenal will unveil Noni Madueke as their newest signing at 3pm today, following the completion of a deal with Chelsea earlier this week. The winger has already wrapped up his medical and agreed personal terms, with all visuals and interviews locked in for the announcement.
Arsenal have moved quickly to secure Madueke after their interest became public earlier this month. While there was some fan pushback online with concerns about his end product and injury record but the club view him as a player with massive upside. The deal was greenlit by Mikel Arteta, who sees the 22-year-old as a strong stylistic fit for his system, particularly with the need to manage Bukayo Saka’s minutes more carefully in 2025/26.

Internally, Arsenal sources feel Madueke has the kind of technical flair and physical power to thrive in the right-hand channel but they’re just as excited about his ability to invert and operate from the left. That versatility is what tipped the balance in his favour when compared to other profiles like Bryan Mbeumo. It’s also why Arsenal were comfortable matching his £50m valuation, which is believed to be slightly less than what they were initially prepared to offer Brentford for Mbeumo.
Madueke joins in time for pre-season in Asia

Madueke would be gunning to prove the supporters wrong starting from the pre-season next week
Madueke joins up with the squad before they fly out for the pre-season tour of Asia, and is expected to feature in at least two of the three friendlies. His arrival frees up Arteta to rotate Saka more often, and creates the option of moving Ethan Nwaneri into a more central creative role as originally planned.
While he might not be the headline name fans were initially expecting, Madueke is a tactical buy, one that plugs a clear depth gap and adds pace, flair and Premier League experience. Arsenal are confident he’ll grow under Arteta’s guidance and prove a valuable piece of their attacking puzzle heading into another demanding season.
