Odegaard or Bruno: who’s the real FPL gem?
As we near the completion of a third of the ongoing Premier League season, the competition levels in the Fantasy Premier League are also on the rise. While some players have performed consistently for their owners, others have done so in bursts and still provided a decent return.
With each team having played 11 games so far in the league, certain players have shown their form consistently over a period of times. Others who have suffered injuries have made their return and will look to get back into the groove.
Two players in this discussion are Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. The two attacking midfielders are the main players of their respective teams and also contribute immensely in terms of goals and assists. While the latter takes penalties, the former plays in a team likely to score more goals.
The question remains – which player would be the better pick for Fantasy Premier League?
Whom to pick between Odegaard and Fernandes
Both Martin Odegaard and Bruno Fernandes are top players and play key roles for Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.
The Norwegian maestro is a left-footed player blessed with silky dribbling and unbelievable vision that helps pick out the toughest passes. He also has an incredible work-rate and helps the team out defensively as well. Odegaard also takes the odd free-kick and has shown instances of being able to score from them in the past. However, an ankle injury has hindered him this season as he has managed just one assist in five appearances for the Gunners.
Fernandes, on the other hand, has been a regular feature in United’s lineups. The Portuguese talisman has a similar distribution ability to Odegaard’s but also plays a big role in set pieces as he takes the penalties and free-kicks. Fernandes has made 17 appearances for the Red Devils so far this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.

Both players also have a decent run of fixtures after the international break, and United will also have Ruben Amorim as manager. However, picking Odegaard seems wiser as the Gunners have a decent run of fixtures as well and are better-placed to deliver results.
