Arsenal made move for highly-rated Lyon starlet Rayan Cherki, who has reportedly turned down an approach from the Gunners despite the North-London site offering huge wages to the Frenchman.
A Real Madrid fan site, Defensa Central, reported about Arsenal approach for Rayan Cherki, in hope of him breaking his pre-agreement with Real Madrid.
The sixteen year old midfielder has his heart & head set on a move to Spanish capital in the near future after Real Madrid intervened Manchester United’s approach last year.
Cherki already has an agreement in place with Real Madrid, but Arsenal attempted to change his preferences with a offer which would see the French prodigy earn more than what he would at Madrid.
According to DC’s sources, the North London side also ‘guaranteed’ Cherki first team minutes under Mikel Arteta and a deal which would see him bag €1million per season.
The wages would be a considerable amount for a sixteen year old, who has a €800,000 per season deal in place with Real Madrid. However, the Frenchman turned down Arsenal’s approach in no time – making it clear that he wants to feature for Real Madrid, which also is the ‘dream of his life.’
Rayan Cherki is set to move to Real Madrid when he attains the age of eighteen, and it seems a considerable amount and an opportunity playing in the Premier League wasn’t enough for him to miss that opportunity.
