Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is reportedly keen on making a move to permanent side Napoli in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The North London giants finished in fifth place on the Premier League table and did not manage to qualify for the Champions League as they were beaten 4-1 by Chelsea in the final of the Europa League as well.
But Unai Emery has only a limited amount of transfer funds to spend this summer as he will be given a budget of around £40 million to strengthen his current squad. But the Spanish manager is also looking to raise transfer funds by offloading a few players and selling them before their contracts run out.
One player who is at the exit door at the Emirates at the moment is Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina. Having made only 29 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since joining the club in 2014, the goalkeeper was usually utilized in cup competitions and is keen on making a permanent move away from the club for regular opportunities as a starter.
German goalkeeper Bernd Leno will be Arsenal’s first choice between the posts while Emery confirmed that Emiliano Martinez will be used as back up leaving Ospina as the third choice.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper spent last season on loan with Serie A club Napoli but now Ospina looks set to make a permanent move to the Stadio San Paolo this summer. Ospina made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Italian club last term but took a leave of absence during the final few stages of the season.
Napoli will be hoping to sign Ospina for a transfer fee of just £3 million in the summer and he looks destined to rival youngster Alex Mirat in goal for the Serie A giants.
