Thomas Partey’s future at Atletico Madrid has come under serious speculations since reported interests of Arsenal and Manchester United, as we are here again talking about another potential u-turn based on social media activities.
Partey’s father made headlines last week after speaking about potential talks with Arsenal and Partey’s Ghanaian representatives (JJSports) were quick to disprove the claims insisting them to be “totally untrue.”
But there is another twist in the tale, as JJSports themselves posted an Instagram story pushing an image from Transfermarkt showing Partey in Atletico’s strip & asking supporters to pick the Ghanaian which was later removed amid fueling the rumours.
Beyond Arsenal and Manchester United, the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus, United & PSG were provided as a potential destination for the 26-year-old, and a new contract with Wanda Metropolitano was not on the list.
On the current contract with Atletico Madrid, Partey has a release clause just under £50million, and the Reds from Madrid are looking to increase that number as they look to tie Thomas to a new deal at the Spanish capital.
And to add to speculations, Gianluca Di Marzio – Sky sports pundit, has talked about the Gunners’ interest being genuine further adding that Atletico Madrid would be willing to sell Thomas for the right price.
“Arsenal want him a lot. Every Atletico Madrid player is in the market.”, Di Marzio via. Sky Sports:
“It also depends on budget – how much Arsenal can afford? And how much Atletico want?
“Atletico will want money, so it is difficult to see them doing a deal involving other players as part of it.”
