Petr Cech has called it an end to his 20-year-old illustrious career. The shot-stopper announced his retirement this afternoon. The 36-year-old will end his tenure at Arsenal at the end of this season. The Czech- Republic keeper had already retired from international football, three years back in 2016.
“Having played 15 years in the Premier League and won every single trophy possible, I feel like I have achieved everything I set out to achieve,” said the ex-Czech Republic international.
“I will continue to work hard at Arsenal to hopefully win one more trophy this season.”
He further said “This is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 20 years since I signed my first professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire.
“I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch.”

The experienced candidate has found it difficult to get into life under Emery, losing his spot to the new-comer Bernd Leno. Former Chelsea man holds the record of most clean sheets in Premier League with 228 clean sheets under his belt. With Thibaut Courtois replacing him at Chelsea, Cech transferred to Arsenal in 2017 and was first team goalkeeper until Emery signed Leno.
No one has bettered the FA Cup than Cech, who has lifted the trophy 5 times, latest in 2017 with the Gunners.
Cech has been an honour for both his country as well as the clubs he has played in. Not only that, Petr Cech has brought respect, pride and honour to the Premier League as well. Truly a legend to be missed, BADLY.
