Mykhaylo Mudryk has had a successful season so far, particularly in Europe. Some of the biggest teams on the continent are expressing interest in Mudryk as a result of his accomplishments for Shakhtar Donetsk, where he has two goals and six assists in only seven games.
His accolades have attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool for the January transfer window, according to a recent Calcio Mercato article.
The Gunners may also face competition from French giants PSG to recruit the 21-year-old winger, whose status has lately soared. According to Fichajes, PSG has allegedly joined the race to recruit Mudryk as they look for a long-term successor for Neymar. Mudryk would be an exciting addition to the French powerhouses in 2023 with multiple big names rumoured to leave the French capital.
Mykhaylo Mudryk is well-known among Arsenal fans due to the widespread speculation around his possible move to the Emirates in the latter part of this year’s summer transfer window. The 21-year-old winger for Shakhtar Donetsk was widely regarded as a major target for Arsenal, but the transfer fell through. Mikel Arteta needed a wide attacker and thus he weighed his options among a number of available players. Raphinha was their primary target. But the sale of the ex-Leeds United attacker to Barcelona pushed the Gunners to go elsewhere. Arsenal was said to have pursued a contract with Mudryk at the time.
But Arsenal’s late-season objectives and the astronomical price tag for the 21-year-old winger were two obstacles. Arteta’s attention has since clearly switched to finding a new center midfielder. They decided against bringing in such a player after failing to convince Aston Villa to sell Douglas Luiz on the final day of the transfer window.
Still required a wide attacker and might try to sign one in the next January transfer window. It will be difficult to recruit the 21-year-old winger during the winter transfer window, so they may have to wait until the summer if they wish to pursue Mudryk again. Although a lot depends on the competition and the money involved.
Numerous teams, including Chelsea and Newcastle United, are also interested in signing Mudryk. PSG is also looking into the situation because they have long liked the Ukrainian. Additionally, Les Parisiens might be in a good position to raise the money needed to close the deal.
However, the 21-year-old said he would be open to joining Arsenal or generally going in the direction of the Premier League during a post-previous window interview.
His abilities are already admired by many, including Arsenal, and his career will be largely determined in the upcoming window. It will be intriguing to see if the player signs with PSG or the north Londoners or anywhere else, but his future seems promising now.
Srna, a former right back for Croatia and now the sports director at Shakhtar has bragged about the player’s worth as the club’s asking price has gone from €35 million to over €57 million.
Mudryk, a strongly built left-footed winger, possesses a vicious change of pace and an awareness of the space that he should drive into before taking chances.
Although he is still only 21, this season has been his most productive to date, with eight goal-involvements across all competitions, including four in the Champions League. His decision-making is also getting better.
His worth is expected to soar with the upcoming release, having been rated at merely €3m by Football Transfer’s internal algorithm following our most recent update. It’s unclear whether it will affect Srna’s $100 million ask though.
