As per recent reports, Arsenal are linked with a move for Feyenoord star Quinten Timber, who is Jurrien Timber’s twin brother.

The 23-year-old took the Dutch league by storm by making 14 goal contributions in 37 games last season. His contributions were vital as the club lifted the Eredivisie title after 18 years.

Both Timber brothers started their youth career by joining Feyenoord but left the club at the age of 13. They had a different path from here on. Jurrien joined the Dutch side Amsterdam Arena (moving to Ajax later on) and Quinten moved to Jong Ajax.

The latter then headed to Utrecht before being re-signed by Feyenoord in 2022. The midfielder plays as a box-to-box and is good at moving from defence to attack.

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Newcastle United are said to be impressed by his attributes.

The Gooners are excited by the fact that they will be able to witness a rare moment of twins playing for the same club. Arsenal’s two veteran defensive midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho face an uncertain future at the Emirates.

The former is likely to stay this year but things might look different next season. Quinten can replace Jorginho and could be an exciting long-term signing.

De Stadionclub value him at €60 million which we believe is too high for a player who has just started to show his A-game. The English elites might enter talks if they can snatch him for €45-50m.

The North London side are all set to announce Mikel Merino’s signing from Real Sociedad. The Spaniard can guide Quinten and help him improve his midfield exposure in the long run.

Arteta can let him play with Declan Rice or alongside Merino. While the other player focuses on his defensive duties, the Feyenoord star can focus on dictating the game in the centre of the field.

Although Arsenal have an upper hand in this deal due to his twin brother Jurrien’s influence, it is unlikely that this rumour will pick up pace due to limited time. However, it remains to be seen whether the club targets the young Dutch talent next year.

Meanwhile, the player will continue to work on his strengths and build his value in the Eredivisie. He has bagged one goal in three league games this season. We hope that he adds more to it.
