Arsenal cool interest in wantaway PSG attacker amid January links

Kolo-Muani-Arsenal

Arsenal have been in the market for a striker for the longest time and have weighed several options in their search. One of the targets is Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Randal Kolo Muani, who as per reports from Caught Offside earlier, has been on the Gunners’ radar for some time now.

However, contrasting reports from Arsenal Fanatics News via their Patreon have emerged recently, which state that the north Londoners are willing to cool their interest in the French attacker. They claim that, ‘Kolo isn’t an option’ amid aggressive links with the player in media. This could potentially be due to the player’s reported falling out with PSG manager Luis Enrique, as well as his dip in performances over the last couple of seasons.

The report further states that while PSG are willing to let the pacey 26-year-old depart the Parc des Princes in January, the Gunners have effectively pulled out of the race to sign him.

A player once so highly-regarded in footballing circles in Europe and across the world, what has led to such a sharp decline in Randal Kolo Muani’s stock?

Kolo Muani came through the ranks at Nantes in his native France between 2015-18. He broke into their first team that year and played for the team sparingly until 2022, when he was signed by Eintracht Frankfurt.

He made a name for himself after a stellar 2022/23 season with the German side, making 50 appearances for them and scoring 26 goals and providing 17 assists. Able to play through the middle as well as on the wings, Kolo Muani is known for his pace and power in his playing style. He has an innate ability to make runs behind the defence and has incredible athletic abilities as well.

The Frenchman joined PSG in 2023 but has failed to hit the ground running. He has made 54 appearances for the Parisians, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists as well. However, with his career threatening to stagnate despite not even hitting his prime, he will look for move away.
