Sacha Boey has been a speculation over a move to Arsenal for sometime now, with his name popping up on the rumour mill on multiple occasions. The Galatasary’s right-back is beep putting in impressive performances down in Turkey, and that has made many top clubs from Europe scouting him. Beoy recently sat down with Carre in France for an exclusive interview where the topic of a potential departure from Gala came into the subject-matter of talk…
ARSENAL, BIG ADMIRERS…
As earlier stated, the Gunners have been linked with a move for Sacha for sometime now, and there were reports at the end of last month suggesting Arsenal are going to make a €20m move for him come the January transfer window. As the right-back sport suffers on the back-up front as of now. With Jurrien Timber injured, Takehiro Tomiyasu is the most natural replacement for Ben White when it come down to it although the Japanese international has been faring fairly effectively on the left these days – to an extent that he has kept Oleksandr Zinchenko on the bench all this while. And then there is Cedric.
Everything suggests there should be an incoming right-back who can act as back-up to Ben in the winter window.
FIRING BOEY
Since making his move to Galatasary in 2021, Sacha Boey has been taking major strides. With a tally of three goals and four lay-offs in seventy-two games – he has been the talk of the town for his work on and off the ball.
Sacha Boey is physically powerful and adept in the air, and he perceives the game effectively, preferring to move forward on the overlap. He does not fit the classic full-back mold. Someone who will attack by hugging the touchline and getting down to the byline before putting the ball in. Boey is well-known for his ability in one-on-one duels, and his quick recovery rate means he can rebound quickly whenever a winger does manage to get the best of him.
WHAT DID BOEY SAY?
”I had contacts with various clubs,” he said.
“These clubs also contacted Galatasaray. There were opportunities for me to go to the Premier League. There were some meetings between Galatasaray administrators and Arsenal officials. There was an interest, but there was no official offer.”
