Arsenal’s first-choice forward line as things stand looks like this: Gabriel Martinelli from the left, Kai Havertz through the middle and Bukayo Saka from the right. Gabriel Jesus is available to play through the centre whilst Leandro Trossard can do the job from the left.
Arsenal linked to Ademola Lookman as transfer deadline looms
With just one week left to go in the transfer window, if the Gunners wanted to beef up their attack with more options, now is the time to do it. One player that they might potentially be looking at to provide cover in all three positions is Ademola Lookman.
The 26-year-old Nigerian currently plays at Atalanta in the Serie A. He shot to fame with his performance in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last season. Lookman has had a journeyman career so far playing for clubs like Charlton, Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester.
He has enjoyed his most productive spell at Atalanta and could be in line for a transfer this summer. The positive thing about Lookman is that he can play anywhere across the forward line, giving the manager a sense of flexibility in where he can be used. The African forward has also developed into a better finisher over the years.
Skybet provide Arsenal a boost?
Skybet have suspended betting on Ademola Lookman to Arsenal. Should fans get excited? Whilst it doesn’t necessarily mean a transfer, there is a clear indication that maybe the 26-year-old could be on his way to the Emirates.
It’s not something to go by 100% but it’s something that does give fans a glimmer of hope. Lookman at the Emirates would help Arsenal kill two-three birds with one stone and also help them move on to the likes of Nketiah and Nelson.

With not many days left to go in the transfer window, if Arsenal are to make a move, it has to be now. Atalanta are a tight-knit group and doesn’t make many changes to the squad unless someone explicitly asks to leave like Teun Koopmeiners is at the moment.
The Serie A side will understandably want enough time to replace Lookman and approaching them on deadline day might not necessarily cut it for us. It all comes down to the next few days of the transfer window.
Objectively, it will be good to have the 26-year-old at the Emirates but not as a regular starter. He is a great option to have in the squad who can contribute off the bench and even start in the cup games. Let’s see if Arsenal can get a deal done for him in the coming days.
