Arsenal first choice goal keeper Petr Cech have come under lot of criticism from supporters recently. Performance of Petr Cech have stagnated and his performance this season bears out Arsenal’s fans resentments.

Petr Cech have note-ably come under criticism for his poor record with The North London side to save from the spot.

Petr Cech have faced fifteen penalties since moving to Arsenal and have conceded in all the fifteen occasions. The dive to save came the wrong way in twelve of the fifteen times.

David Ospina have always impressed when he was opted as the man between the woodworks. His reflexes are sturdy and despite of his small height he makes sure the ball stays out of the net.

David Ospina signed for Arsenal after an impressive World Cup stint in Brazil with Colombia. He played as first choice Goalie for Arsenal in 2014 after Wojiech Szczesny. Ospina was highly impressive as his time as first choice keeper for Arsenal.

Arsenal hooked in Petr Cech from Chelsea on a free transfer in the following summer and Ospina has been only a back-up to Petr.

Petr Cech was surplus to requirements at Chelsea with arrival of Thaubios Courtois from his loan stint with Atletico Madrid. Cech is a living legend atleast for Chelsea supporters but many debate his quality after his switch to Arsenal.

No doubt about the ‘big name’ Petr Cech but sometimes his performance tells – ‘its his time now’.

David Ospina has been with Arsenal for three and a half years now but has only made 25 league appearances. Ospina’s possesses quality more than what he gets with Arsenal.

David Ospina was at Ligue 1 side Nice before moving to North London. Frederic Antonetti, manager responsible to bring Ospina to Nice, said, “He has everything you need to be a top goalkeeper. He’s good in the air and he’s good on the ground. He has that little extra something to be a champion. Hugo Lloris was an international-standard goalkeeper; so is David.”

After the 2015 Campaign, his brilliant act of performances earned him a place for FIFA Ballon D’or nominee. This is a huge feat to achieve as a footballer.

ARSENALCORE’s VIEW: Its time to give David Ospina his ‘deserved’ chance between the posts. Petr Cech may have done well post past couple of years but David Ospina deserves the rank more than his compatriot.
