Tottenham looking to sign another Arsenal transfer target after Eze swoop

Akliouche-Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are once again eyeing a player who has previously been on Arsenal’s radar, this time turning their attention to AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche. According to The Independent, Spurs view the 23-year-old as a strong alternative to Manchester City’s Savinho, with a price tag of around £47.5 million being discussed.

Tottenham had been pushing to secure Savinho from Manchester City, but the Premier League champions are holding out for £70 million. With the deal proving difficult, Spurs are now seriously considering Akliouche as a more attainable target. The Frenchman is regarded as one of Ligue 1’s brightest young wide players, capable of operating on both flanks and bringing much-needed cutting edge to the attack.

Following the departure of Son Heung-min and James Maddison’s injury setback, Spurs’ frontline requires urgent reinforcement. While Mohammed Kudus has arrived to boost attacking depth, Thomas Frank’s side still lack consistent firepower alongside Dominic Solanke, who struggled for goals last season. Akliouche, with his versatility and creativity, could provide the spark needed to lift Tottenham’s attacking output.

Arsenal had been linked with the Monaco star previously, and his technical ability, combined with pace and intelligence in the final third, makes him the type of signing North London rivals would have considered. Now, Spurs have the chance to move ahead and secure another target who once attracted interest from the Emirates.

The £47.5 million price tag remains steep for a relatively unproven player at the very top level, though the Lilywhites would be hoping to negotiate that figure down. Still, compared to Savinho’s £70 million valuation, Akliouche represents a more realistic investment. The opportunity to play in the Premier League will likely appeal to the Frenchman, and with Frank’s reputation for developing attacking players, Tottenham could offer the perfect environment for his next step.

With Arsenal no longer in the race for Eberechi Eze, Tottenham are seizing the initiative in the market. The coming weeks will reveal whether they are prepared to meet Monaco’s asking price or if this transfer story follows a familiar pattern of drawn-out negotiations in North London.
