Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was back on the scoresheets, back leading the Premier League goalscoring chart this season. Aubameyang scored two against Burnley as Arsenal are back to winning ways.
Aubameyang opened the scoring at the fourteenth minutes, a well taken volley created superbly though by Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac. The Gabonese doubled the lead just after half-time with a superb strike inside the Penalty area.
Those goal mean that Aubameyang has overtaken Mohamed Salah at the top of Premier League ‘goal-scoring chart’ with twelve goals, with Liverpool ace scoring eleven.
Meanwhile, Sokratis was involved in a gusty individual battle with Ashley Barnes throughout the ninety, claimed he knew that Aubameyang would be on the scoresheets before the kick-off whistle.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Sokratis said to Aubameyang: ‘Before the game what did I say to you?’ to which his teammate replied: ‘I will score two, that’s true!’
When asked why he thought that Aubameyang would score, Sokratis responded: ‘I know Auba, I’ve known him for six or seven years. These games, he does it every time, he always scores one, two, three goals.’
Arsenal were back to winning ways after that surprising loss against Southampton followed by another off the grid performance against Tottenham. It was an important win into the festive period and valuable three points in the end for the Gunners.
