Arsenal could be on the verge of making their second signing of the summer transfer window with Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez close to completing a move to the Emirates Stadium as soon as Monday.
Unai Emery has been crying out for a winger who can add some width to his attack and provide a different kind of dynamism on the flanks. And Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez could be the man that will offer that for the Arsenal boss if the Gunners negotiate a deal with Real Madrid before the squad leaves for its preseason on Tuesday.
The Los Blancos have already splashed out £190 million on summer arrivals this transfer window and are in the mood to recoup some of that revenue by offloading some of their fringe players. Spanish midfielder Lucas Vazquez looks to be on the exit door at the Santiago Bernabeu after reportedly falling out with Zinedine Zidane at the club.
The Spanish outfit is looking to sell the 28-year-old Vazquez and Arsenal are ready to accept the attacker as Real Madrid are expecting £30 million off his sale.
Although Arsenal has a transfer war chest of only around £40 million, the Gunners are trying to get the best and most economical deals. Vazquez has one La Liga title and three Champions League titles to his name and could make a name for himself at the Emirates Stadium.
Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint Germain are also monitoring the situation for Vazquez but Arsenal’s lack of Champions League football may not attract the player to North London.
