Arsenal is scheduled to face Liverpool on Saturday at latter’s home ground, Anfield. The fans of both the clubs will be exuberant to watch the big contest as both have successfully won their two inaugurating games of the Premier League. While Liverpool holds the top position, Arsenal is one ladder below with same points.
Both the teams are heavily dependent on their ace strikers. Liverpool’s ace striker, Roberto Firmino and Arsenal’s star, Alexandre Lacazette are both alike playing at centre-forward for their respective clubs with jersey number 9.
ROBERTO FIRMINO
The 27-year old scored his first goal of Premier League season 2019/20 in the second match against Southampton, while starting the season with one assist in the opening fixture.
Firmino’s assets are his accurate passing, quick footwork, agile dribbling and powerful shots. He is a tricky player and can surpass the defenders through his classic finesse. He has great understanding of game and develops sound coordination with his team mates.
If you travel back in time at the last encounter, Liverpool brutally defeated Arsenal by 5-1, triggered by Firmino’s unstoppable hat-trick.
However, the scenario has changed now with Arsenal investing huge(in term of ability) amounts into gaining potential defensive players. The newly acquired and experienced David Luiz will have an instrumental role in blocking Firmino’s chances. Hence , the centre forward will have to come up with some creative style of play and surpass in an illusionist way. Also he has the support of Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane , they bond up as an invincible trio.
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE
Alexandre Lacazette is at par with Firmino scoring one goal in two matches played in the Premier League, but has no assists.
The 28-year old striker’s biggest adroit is his pace and shots that go like a trace of bulket. Besides being an agile dribbler with either foot, he has goalscoring and finishing ability also. Apart from it, although he is a striker, he has qualities of a defender too, as he counters on the adversary and gains the ball back using his defensive techniques and tackling ability.
The French international was awarded the Arsenal Player of the Season 2018-19 for his incredible contribution to the club.
He will have to face Virgil Van Dijk, one of the best defender of the world, standing as a boulder in front of him, who doesn’t let any striker beat him.
Can Lacazette’s pace becomes a merit in surpassing the resistant Virgil will be interesting to watch!
CONCLUSION
Roberto Firmino is certain to dominate the match with the help of his incredible mates but if the shoes of Alexandre start dancing, the grooves of the Frenchman will leave Anfield in “aww” while the fans of London will sleep with the feeling of “awe.”
