Folarin Balogun has signed a new long-term contract deal with Arsenal on Monday and looks to be a part of Arsenal’s big project in the coming years.
Balogun is a new and emerging young sensation from the Emirates Stadium and is one of the most exciting prospects for the Gunners in the near future. The 19 year- old youngster has shown immense respect and interest for the North London club as several other English clubs had shown interest in getting his signature but the 19-year-old striker has chosen the Gunners for his growth and development as a player.
By signing a new long-term contract, Balogun has insisted on his plans to play for Arsenal’s first team. “My ambitions for the next season are to make an impact in the first team. I see it as something which I’ve taken upon myself to be able to go over there and make an impact, not just be one of the numbers,” Balogun said in an interview. “I want to be somebody who eventually leads that group, so I would say I have quite driven ambitions. We’ll see if I can make that happen.”
The 19-year-old striker, who was born in The New York City of the USA, has represented both the United States as well as the Three Lions at the youth level.
Impact on the Club
The signing of the new long-term deal have given Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal club, in general, a huge boost ahead of the summer as Balogun is one of the biggest emerging talents from the Emirates and his previous contract was going to run out at the end of this season.
However, any fear the Gunners had of losing him has now been over after he signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The young USA-born striker has made six First team appearance this season and scored two goals and The Gunners boss Mikel Arteta only have praises and huge expectations from the youngster.
“We have been extremely impressed with Flo this season,” said Arteta. “The hard work starts from here for Flo and we’re looking forward to supporting and working with him in the years to come.”
Arsenal are having big plans for Balogun in the near future as the team is currently going through transitional times and the fans will have huge expectations from the American youngster. But other than that, Balogun also have huge expectations for himself from his chosen club and would like to perform at the highest level representing the Gunners.
