Arsenal are linked with a move to add Dan Bentley to the goalkeeping department this summer, and the Gunners are set to return with another bid to land the 31-year-old after having seen their initial bid rejected by Wolves.
Bentley back to North London?
Mikel Arteta brought in David Raya on a permanent deal earlier this summer, and he is looking at Dan Bentley to provide the cover for the EURO 2024 keeper going into the next season, especially with Aaron Ramsdale‘s future in North London looking slim every passing day.
The Gunners made an approach of £50,000 for Dan Bentley, which was swiftly rejected by Wolves as it was ‘way off’ their valuation of the goalkeeper. While the 31-year-old only has one year left on his current contract at Molineux Stadium, his current employers are looking for a sizeable offer to let go of Dan.
Arsenal want to bring Bentley back to the London Colony. The 31-year-old actually began his youth career at Hale End and was released from the club in 2008 after seven years with the Gunners. He also knows current Arsenal goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana from their time together at Brentford.
Dan Bentley signed for the Wolves in the last winter window and has been serving as a deputy to Jose Sa.
Wolves dig in heels over Dan Bentley valuation
Bentley comes in with home-grown status, and the Gunners are set to make another transfer offer for his services.
The Gunners have made a new bid, which rises to £300,000 in total for the goalkeeper; however, Wolves are said to be looking for a fee of around £1m for the 31-year-old. Both sides are expected to reach a compromise.

Arsenal have already secured the future of Karl Hein, who can serve as a backup to David Raya after penning down a new contract at London Colony earlier this month. Albeit, he is expected to depart on loan to continue his development, and this is where the need for Dan Bentley at N5 arises.
