Arsenal are in dire need of a new striker to lead the front line, and that is the only area that’s holding them back from dethroning Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
They lack a pure goalscoring threat in the squad and are looking for a star player who can have a similar impact as Erling Haaland at the Etihad.
As per Inter Live, the Gunners are ready to include Gabriel Jesus in a player-plus cash deal to sign Inter Milan ace Marcus Thuram. It is said that Mikel Arteta is a fan of the French star and would love to have him at the club next summer.
Jesus has flattered to deceive since moving from Manchester City for £45 million in 2022. He scored just 19 goals in 70 appearances owing to injuries and inconsistent performances. He has fallen behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order.

Arteta has kept him in his plans, but he might grow impatient due to a lack of progress. Hence, it makes sense to use the South American attacker as a makeweight to land Thuram.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires in four years time but could be available next summer. Arsenal are aware that the player’s value has skyrocketed in recent years.
Marcus Thuram has turned into a world-class mercenary at San Siro
Thuram has garnered a lot of attention after moving to the Italian giants from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach last season.
He has scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists in 46 appearances, helping the Nerazzurri lift the Serie A title in the 2023–24 season. Also played a pivotal role in France’s final game of the 2022 World Cup (22 caps for the national time).
This season, he has continued to score in a similar rhythm, totaling four goals and two assists in just three league games. Inter are favourites to win the title, and Thuram is expected to be among the highest goal scorers.
He can become an integral part of Arsenal’s starting XI due to his vast experience for club and country. The Inter star has been linked with the Gunners for a long time.
A story from French outlet Le10Sport claimed that former Arsenal boss Unai Emery wanted to sign the attacker while he was playing for Guingamp in 2019, but a move never happened.
Even legendary manager Arsene Wenger likened the player to Thierry Henry during his time in Germany. While speaking to Der Spiegal in 2020, he said:
“Thierry Henry had the timing of the smartest footballers. He was also very strong physically, and technically he could do everything. In fact, there’s a player in the Bundesliga who reminds me of him – Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach.”
Thuram himself revealed that he adores the legendary French striker. As quoted by GOAL, he calls him his “best uncle” due to Henry’s close connection with his father Lillian.
It’s time for Arsenal to finally listen to their predecessors and sign the prolific talisman in 2025. Offering Jesus helps them save cash since the Brazilian has a similar market value.

If Inter agrees to sit on the negotiation table, then the North London outfit might even propose a cash offer to entice them into selling their prized asset.
But it remains to be seen how much substantial cash is needed to secure the transfer. This is a kind of deal that should go over the line.
