Arsenal have joined a host of other Premier League clubs in the race to sign Bayern Munich sensation Alphonso Davies next summer, as per The Athletic.
The Canadian international is subject to huge interest as his contract ends soon. His parent club is trying to extend his stay, but they are finding it hard to meet on common grounds.
Hence, a move away seems highly likely with several suitors trying to outsmart each other in this high-octane transfer race. As per the source, English clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are targeting the 24-year-old next year.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keen admirers, with the former being very strong contenders and the most likely destination for the defender. The Gunners are a surprise name in this list, even if they have options in their left-back spot.
Will Arsenal try to sign Alphonso Davies?
Mikel Arteta has built a smart squad, and he has players who are versatile enough to play in multiple positions. Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko are the top choices for the manager.
However, the team needs depth in order to increase the competition for the existing players. Neither Calafiori nor Davies will settle for a backup role.
With their Italian full-back doing well this term, they have little reason to hunt for a new full-back. No doubt, the Bayern star will be a world-class addition, but the North London outfit also needs to invest in a dependable striker.
We all know Alphonso Davies is going to Madrid.
As an Arsenal fan, i surely want him at the carpet.
Going to be a long ask, but hopefully @Arsenal pursues him

Arsenal have preferred to use their defenders as inverted full-backs. We have rarely seen Arteta making his full-backs play a very high line. However, Davies is more of a modern-day LB who runs tirelessly to contribute both in attack and defence.
He possesses extraordinary speed, and if he signs for the Gooners, he would be their fastest player in their current squad, beating the likes of Ben White and Gabriel Martinelli.
But the player is Madrid bound, making this race pretty complicated. The English giants are an attractive option, but there are other clubs who probably need the player more.

Arsenal have attempted to sign the talented defender before he joined Bayern, but it seems that this time they will pass on the opportunity. The fans should expect very little from this transfer rumour.
