Arsenal’s preparations for their pre-season opener in Singapore have taken a slight hit, after manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the squad’s morning training session had to be cancelled due to torrential rain.
Speaking during media duties ahead of the clash with AC Milan, Arteta explained that the poor weather disrupted their schedule entirely, with the team unable to carry out their usual preparations at the planned time.
Afternoon switch as Arsenal adjust plans
With the original session called off, Arsenal have moved their training to the afternoon in the hopes that the conditions ease up. While it’s not an ideal scenario, the staff remain calm and focused on adapting quickly, a theme that has defined much of Arteta’s tenure.
The Gunners are set to face AC Milan in their first match of the Asia tour, and Arteta is expected to give game time to several first-team players, including new signings and academy talents. The change in timing will at least allow the squad to get on the pitch before the matchday, even if the rhythm was slightly thrown off.
No panic despite minor disruption
Arsenal’s squad have dealt with plenty of curveballs over the years, and this won’t shake the focus too much. The players will train later today and then turn their attention to Milan, with hopes of setting the tone for a successful tour and season ahead.
Fans at the Singapore venue can still expect a strong showing assuming the weather finally plays ball.
