Max Dowman, who joined Arsenal’s academy at a young age, has long been considered a top prospect. The midfielder has consistently played above his age group. This earned him attention for his maturity and technical ability. At just 15, Max Dowman began training with Mikel Arteta’s first team last December. He has remained involved ever since, signaling the club’s growing confidence in him.

Max Dowman announced himself during Arsenal’s pre-season campaign. Standout performances highlighted his creativity and composure. Since then, he has made three competitive appearances for Arsenal this season. One appearance included a cameo against Liverpool at Anfield.

Max Dowman’s rise has drawn admiration from teammates and coaches. Cristhian Mosquera, who joined Arsenal from Valencia, praised Max Dowman. “I don’t mean to compare, but his style and way of playing is like Lamine Yamal. His movements are Lamine-esque,” Cristhian Mosquera told The Athletic.

Cristhian Mosquera added he was taken aback by Max Dowman’s age. “I didn’t have him on my radar and when I got to Singapore, he was already training and playing. When they told me he was 15, I couldn’t believe it. He really is an incredible player, and I think he’s going to be world-class.”

Arsenal’s young talents impress

Cristhian Mosquera also highlighted the talent of other young Arsenal players. “You see 17 and 18-year-olds like Myles [Lewis-Skelly] or Ethan [Nwaneri] and they play like they’re 30, like they’ve been playing football their whole lives. It’s incredible.”

Arsenal have received a boost ahead of their match against Fulham. A summer signing has returned to training after injury. Also, Arsenal have announced a first pro contract for an academy talent on his 17th birthday.

Max Dowman’s emergence adds another dimension to Arsenal’s squad. His comparison to Lamine Yamal suggests a bright future. How Mikel Arteta integrates him into the first team will be key to his development.
